Just drove an '08 Euro Focus ST..WOW!!

Man, what a great car! So sad that we have to wait for this one! I loved every aspect of this car, fit and finish, 6-speed, looks, roominess. Hands down beats the socks off any focus we have ever produced here in the states! It had a special powertrain in it, so I can't comment on the performance, but the 6-speed trans was stock..and so were the RECARO seats and dual zone auto climate control! The weird thing is the Recaro's were cloth, but looked really nice anyway!
I soooo wish we had this car here! Oh well, maybe someday!

Where are you right now that you were able to drive it? Europe? South America? Or is there some prototype/test car/whatever lurking up there in Michigan? ("special powertrain" [V6?] makes me think prototype...)

Anyway, very, very depressing that we here are deprived of the opportunity to own one...

There is 3 models of the euro focus ST. The ST1, ST2, ST3. First 2 models have cloth interior as standard and only the ST3 has heated leather as standard. I have an ST2 with cloth interior matching the colour of the car.

Thats my interior and to be honest i prefer it than the leather recaros.
Click on the microsite on this link and you can configure what type of interior you want for an ST

I work in product planning for Ford (no, I have no control over bringing the Euro Focus here so please don't PM me ) The car had a special engine in it but its very hush hush, you'll all find out in 2 or 3 years! Unfortunatly the car gets shipped back tonight..Glad I got the chance to drive it...Might start looking for a job in Europe! They get all the good stuff!

First i've heard of a special engine for the ST and i work for ford ireland. I know the new model ST aint due until mid 2008 but it has the same power plant and gearbox. 5 cylinder engine with 6 speed gearbox same as the current model.

^^^ I really like that interior, but would be afraid of keeping those seats clean. Looks really nice though.
