Exclamation EMERGENCY SORT OF! plz read =/

AWWW man!! so my ZX5 died on me...... hmm cluster gauges tripped out lol. First i noticed my ABS light went on. then few feet later i feel the car faint sort of, so i start to pull to the side. I put it on park and my radio turned off along with my cluster, car was still on but my rpm was 0 and gas showed empty "as if the car was off" so i turned it off. Went to crank it on and nothing.... well it sounded like it was going to start but then just became a clicking sound. Hmm friends came by and we jumped it, my lights were super dim about a minute later it died again =/. I'm guessing alternator? and my battery? lol cause i mean my lights are super dim when my car is off. Now im having it towed and they are telling me 75bux to move it 2 miles haha! how shitty!! anywho. ANYONE THINK IF I JUMP IT, IT WILL MAKE THE 2 miles?? INPUT PLZ and hurry...

it's possible a jump will start it but it will die shortly after, when my Alternator went out apperantly my battery was pretty good cause if I let it sit for about 20 min it would start again but die about 3 min later while I was trying to get it to ford lol good luck

I had my alternator die on my once, a fresh battery carried me about 20 miles!

if you keep the car revved real high it might carry you your 2 miles. but it will be scary!

It is surprising how long you can run it without an alternator. My friend had an alternator go out on him at a mud bog in his F150. We unhooked the alternator and waited in line with the truck idling for about 30 minutes. Then we ran it threw the mud and then did a few donuts, parked the truck and restarted it without a jump. It finally died when we were pulling it up on the trailer. You should be okay as long as you have a battery with a good charge.

well the battery took me 20 miles AFTER i had to keep it revved high

I was on the highway, my alternator went out. it took me about 5 miles to get to an autozone where i got my battery.

the thing is, you're going to want a new battery now anyway. so go buy a battery drive your car home or where ever then take the battery back to get it charged or replaced.

If you put a new alternator on a car with a dead battery you risk destroying the voltage regulator on the new alternator. you should always have a fully charged battery when you change the alternator.

anyway i had to keep the car revved to about 3500 rpm before i got the new battery, and like i said. doing that carried me about 5 miles (but i don't know in your case because your car has already been sitting. i never stopped when my alternator died)
