Crash and Airbag Light

Hello there, I am unsure if this is the right area to post this thread so apologizes in advance.

I have purchased a 3 Door 2001 Ford Focus, it has had a crash from the front but everything has been repaired... however the airbag light is CONSTANTLY on.. My local garage said that the ECU needs re-configuring? or maybe need a new ECU... Can somebody give me advice here; I have been reading how some people just disconnect the battery for a while to reset the ECU.. but then wouldn’t that reset my key fob?

Any help is much appreciated,

Colin Jensen

I have an 02 Escape that I gave to my daughter. After every rain the airbag light stays on for about a week or so. Maybe there is water in one of the connectors, or a loose connection. Check the owners manual for the fob problem, it's all covered there.
