there is a black box (when looking in the engine bay next to where the blinker fluid goes) at the front right near your body. it has a red and a black big prong on there. hook it up there, youll get good reading.

I think you had better be careful. Fokuzsport, that's just mean, LOL. See, Focuzsport is telling you to cross the terminals of the battery. Yes, of course you can put a tachometer onto an automatic transmission car. It's not that hard, I've done it myself years ago. What brand is it? You might go to their website and see if maybe they have instructions that you can download.

is your keyboard missing all the punctuation keys?

yes, you can put a tach in your car. what wires does your tach have? im guessing theres probably a power, ground, and a tach signal wire. hook the power to a +12v wire in the car, hook the gound to a ground screw, and hook the tach wire up to a tach source. i believe you can use the middle wire coming off of the ignition coil.

Here is a diagram from an instruction sheet for an Autometer tachometer. I picked Autometer because it is the most popular brand, and you didn't say which kind you have. Most are of the same design and work the same way anyway. The diagram looks like how I remember wiring mine, it's a fairly universal wiring job.
