Is there any car division that compares to SVT?

I have an SVT Focus. Notice how the word ford isn't even in there? It might be a little odd, but I consider myself to have an SVT, not a ford. I'm sure that people who drive the new Minis, or the Scions may agree with my point of view. I'm not so sure about divisions like PVO, Mazdaspeed, ect.

I like that I have an all around special edition, with special benifits, exclusivity, and a certificate.

Is there any other division that comes close? I know Ligenfilder (Gah, the people who made the 0-60 in 1.9 second 'vette) does this, but that's a much higher price, and out of factory. AMG? The M series? Don't know the answers, but the question has been going through my mind.

I'd say SVT is on par with Mazdaspeed, SRT (is that PVO?), AMG, M, etc... They all tune cars from the factory, and come with a factory warrenty, and are exclusive.

I'd say SRT. No one oogles over a SXT neon. And do they make other SXT models?
SRT has special versions of the Neon, Crossfire, Ram, and in a sense the Viper.

Do I have to be the one who says it? The SVT Focus isn't THAT special. You should be more sure about divisions like PVO and Mazdaspeed because that's exactly the same thing as SVT - they are in-house arms of the parent company that produce "tuned" models of regular cars. How does the SVT Focus compare to the Mini or a Scion? The SVT Focus is a FOCUS! It's the same as any other Ford Focus, complete with Ford badging. The Scions are completely different cars than any Toyota available, and the Mini is a wholly different car from any BMW available.

What I like is how Toyota will put some minor suspension on a truck and slap their "TRD" logo on it. Woot... now it's not just a truck is a RACING truck!

What special benefits do we get over the regular Focus owners? I don't think anything. I could care less about a certificate but if it works for you great.

Even though I love my new car, and would easily say it is now the best car I've ever owned, I agree with others, it's still a Focus. The best Focus in the US for sure, but it's still a Focus. The SVT badge only means something to the owners. Because if you go to sell your SVT Focus, you will quickly find out that it's just a Focus, meaning it loses value very fast. For comparison I traded in my 2003 RSX Type S with 9700 miles on it for $18,000. Guess how much a fully loaded 2003 SVT Focus with the same miles (roughly the same price as a Type S) would have gotten me. Trust me, you don't want to know.

It's a good thing I plan on keeping this car for five or six years, because trading it in before then will not be an option.

I get a free loaner vehicle and a free detailing when my car is brought in for work. A free one year membership into the SVTOA. Some people are getting hats, posters, books, ect. Off the top of my head, I can't remember anything else. But that, is something.

I'm not talking about the cars so much as the divisions. It's made me think of my car as something more special than a normal focus.

And I don't plan to sell my Focus. If resale was my main concern, I would have bought an old Civic with 100k on it, drove it another 100k, and sold it for about the same price. Buying a new car all the time is an assured way to limit what you can do in life.

you still just own a focus, even if it is an svt.

if you want to talk about an exclusive division of ford, look at Roush or Saleen. SVT is not nearly on that level. I dont care how many hats or posters you were given, you sill just own a focus.

I get a free loaner as well and I don't like other people detailing my car.
