Possibly buying a 2002 Focus (Part II)

OK, I wish I had placed this in my first message, but here is a link to the car:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...uperSpotlight=

The day I saw the car, it was parked behind a fence so I could not get an up close view. Regardless, what do you think? As stated, I hope to talk him down by $300-$500 dollars.

Looks nice, but I think the only inside pic is NOT a focus. If it is a '02 focus interior than thats pretty diffrent & cool. As for the price, there are a lot of foci out there. I'm a low-baller kinda guy, If you can buy it out right I would start at $3,800.00 CASH ON THE SPOT. If you need financing then I would start at $4,000.00, because he'll say $4,300.00 and you'll prob. negotiate around $4,150.00 ish. Good Luck!

the interior pic is of a lincoln contential. only reason i know m dad had one a while back. the interior on the real car is cloth. but it doesnt look like a bad car at all. but i would def start off at low and work your way up. have the nada values and other stuff on it and start with those as you neg points

Suck a gimmick would cause me not to buy the car.

I say go somewhere else.

And I sincerely doubt you can get power everything AND cruise control AND ABS AND A/C on the LX... That's basically all of what you get in an SE. Another reason to shy away from this dealer.

Exactly. A fully loaded LX with all that stuff is basically not even an SE but a ZTS. The interior picture is not of the same car, so either the dealer is really stupid or is posting a false pic on purpose. Also the engine is the SPI engine, plus it has a automatic...so expect to be making a barely adequate 90hp or less to the wheels. I woudlnt buy this car, go to an actually Ford dealer and pick up a certified used Focus...not one off some generic lot.

Like i said in the last thread, id stay away from anything older then an 03. You might be wanting to buy an older car cause itll be cheaper, but at the same time, you might be paying the difference between a new car in repairs and high mileage maintanence.

Don't get it lol, and i'd try to buy a SE or ZTS

Not a focus interior, look at the shape of the window. Not for a Focus. Don't buy it.

Some SE's got SPI's engines too. It's all about the equipment u chose when U bought the car.
