2003 Focus feature list, specs, options and more

I ran into this website searching for some Focus parts.
It's got some good info on the 2003 Focus options and engine/tranny specs for Zetec and SPI.
Most of the specs actually apply to all focus years not just 2003.

It's got some ZX2 stuff on there too..?..this is interesting...
Horsepower (SAE net @ rpm)
130 @ 5750 (ZX2)
130 @ 5300 (Focus)

Torque (lb.-ft. @ rpm)

I got a question, since I am a super noob in the Focus scene, how do I go about finding out which engine type I have? I know I drive a ZX3, but have not popped open the hood since I just got it today.

what year zx3? and where do you live?

you wont have the SPI, but depending on year and location you could have the zetec or pzev engine. probably the easiest thing to do is look at your manual.

surprisingly, yes, in green states, CA being one of them, the pzev engine was avalable in 03. and i believe was standard equipment in 04. in none green states (like CO, where i live) the pzev was not even an option untill 04.

i think i might be a little off, but engine options did vary, i know that much.

Ahrite, I went upstairs to the garage and found one of those paper that you find at a car dealship lot that tells you all of the info.

It is a 2001 ZX3 with a 16v Zetec.

Is that good or is that the bottom of the line?

that is definatly not the bottom of the line. (the SPI is the bottom of the line) You have a good engine there. with lots of mods available.

here is a good place to start:

have fun, and holler if you need anything.
