Drifting Scene

I was watching some DVDs that showed some drifting events here in the USA. It looks fun as hell makes me want to buy a old 240sx or AE86 and try it. I know RWD is primarly used in drifting but has anyone tried drifting their focus?

in the snow... yes. but um, yeah. FWD cars aren't made for drifting. leave that to the big dawgs with high torque numbers to get them rear wheels spinnin.

Use the search term "drifting" in the forum archives - you'll find a bunch of threads about trying to drift a Focus. Basically, you can't. Not real drifting, anyway.

my car is so loose it spins when i try to take a slow turn at highspeed.

maybe it's because i have Uniroyals in back and bridgestone potenzas in the front...

My 240 Project is coming along nicely. I'll post pics down the road. I plan on doing a lot of drifting with that. And if you're thinking about gettin a AE86 like in Initial D, good luck, they are very rare these days. 240's on the other hand can be had for a very cheap price and made very fast. I got mine with a blown motor for 500. I'm waiting on my skyline clip to come in, then I'll be good to go.

Hey disturbed, are you gonna get the sr20det motor or go with the stock KA24DE and built it up. The SR motor would be the way to go but one good thing about the KA24DE is it puts out good torque. Good luck on the project!

Haha, SR20. I went drastic and got an RB25DET from a Nissan Skyline GTS-t. It should be here in a week or two.
