The focus match-up

I have a stock zts (auto) and I want to make it somewhat fast. I have already lost a race to a friends ford probe (slow as hell. how did i lose?), and I want to be sure that I can beat it really soon. Also, I'd like to be able to beat a 2000 V6 Mustang. What kind of mods will put me there? I think I want to stick to basic bolt ons, but which ones will put my there? I dont think I want exhaust either.

There is really no point in letting you car breath in more air with out letting it out. Go with a Volant intake, 65 mm throtle body, under drive pullies, Superchip... that would be about it unless you want to hook up the exhaust. With out the exhaust you'll have a hard time running against any mustang.

Diablo Spor Chip, Full exhaust, Intake, TB. There are a ton of options. Just depends on your budget.

Yeah I realize that the exhaust is a big part of the speed that I need. Its just that thats a big buy. I already ordered the 2 piece fc udp, and i am definately going with the volant. I am also considering headers for my stock exhaust (jt or obx racing) because I hear they add a bit of torque. Will these basics at least allow me to smoke the probe?

Magnaflow and if you can afford it Borla even. Def go with a high flow cat, good intake of your choice and a aftermarket TB. As already stated by jisturm, it all depends upon your budget.

I was looking on focustrends.com and they have a "ported throttle body" for only $55. Does anyone know if this is 65mm or even a good part at all? If it is, I will buy it right away.

not the same as a 65mm, its just enlarged stock one. dont get obx headers, get jba shorties or a full race(will eliminate your cat) unless u wanna stay legit get a hi flow cat, exhaust, udp,,,blah blah
