Exclamation ST in the shop :(

So last night after getting home I noticed a small puddle under my ST on the drivers side. This cant be good I thought as I reached down under it. After sliding my hand through the puddle and rubbing my fingers together I quickly discovered that it was coolant.
Shit!......I thought, Well after popping open the hood and doing a little looking around, very little in fact. I discovered a strange substance and a first for sure.

It looks as though my battery some how sprung a leak and dumped acid all over the 1 coolant line that runs right next to it. Eventually eating through it and springing the coolant free from the line, making a huge mess in the process. Also passing more of the acid to other lines on that side. But for now those are intact.

So now down to the dealer she goes.....

The woman at the dealer called me up after a few hours and was like, Yup we did verify that the battery was the initial problem. And was wondering if the car had been in an accident ,thats a big no. Looks like they are gonna have to keep it till monday to tear her apart and make sure that the acid didn't get into anything else.

Good news is that it looks like this will all be covered under my warranty! After Hearing that I it didn't bother me that I'd be with out my baby for the weekend.....kinda cause I can't wait to get her back!

WOW! That sucks!

It SHOULD be covered by the warranty. After all, it's a Motorcraft battery.

Well no cost to you, a new battery, you can't beat that. It sucks that it happened, but it looks like they are being pretty cool about it.

peregrine speaks the truth. i dont know why dealers still put wet cell batteries in a car. if i ran a dealership they would all be dry cells under the hood
