So Ford is re-releasing the "Bullitt" editin mustang?

http://money.cnn.com/2007/11/06/auto...ex.htm?cnn=yes

I guess it'd make sense to do it again since the newer mustangs look more like the original mustang he drove in the movie rather than the previous generation.

Just seems kind of a waste. I dunno.

Definitely disagree. I'm not a Mustang guy by any stretch, but if you were to wrangled up 100 modded 'Stangs and 100 modded Civics, you'd have a bunch of nice looking Mustangs and a bunch of riced out Civics. Not sure why it is, but the 'Stangs I see with aftermarket work done are typically very cleanly and tastefully done, while I don't think I've ever seen a classy modded Civic. Sure there are exceptions to the rule, but it is what I have noticed.

As for the Bullitt edition mustang, I think it looks badass, and it will be a sweet car as long as they only sell them in limited quantities.

I was curious why you have never seen a ricey Mustang, then I saw your location...Here in the states people pretty much destroy Mustangs, especially people from south of the border. I've seen more stock ride-height, fiberglass bodykitted Mustangs in my short life than anyone should ever have to. I'm talking cars that the driver of a riced out Civic would say is ricey.

That said, I have actually seen an increasing number of "nice" civics.

Well, I live in a southern state and I rarely see a distasteful Mustang. It happens but I see riced out Hondas, Mitusbishis and many other imports on a daily basis. I also see the occasional ricey Focus, Cavalier, etc... but it definitely seems that people modding American cars tend to have a little more taste.

The new Bullit would make a good basis for building a Mustang but considering the limited quantity(7700) I wouldn't want to mod it since it would lower the value. There really is nothing exceptional in the way of performance but for the person who doesn't like to mod it should prove to be a good Mustang. I like the dash treatment and the seats.

i think that it is a nice car. and ithink that it is cool that the new cars look alot like the older ones. about the whole Civic Mustang thing i would say that there are way more riced out civics out there then mustangs. i like the mustang and most that i see are done very nicely and if it is not very nice then it is still realatively clean.

Yeah, and it's got an ENGINE TURNED ALUMINUM dash! That's what I WISH I could have on my SVT (or I wish PatternTek offered it as a "dip" - although it probably wouldn't be convincing...).

My dad has the '01 Bullitt. I love the look of that car and it has pretty good power with the bigger 2 barrel throttle body and intake plenum. Then there is the handeling of with the 1" drop!!! They only ran less than 5500 (I believe) total of those cars.

Now, with the new one Ford wants to run 7700? Thats too many to be limited production. They stopped selling/making the 01's because noone bought them. Plus, they are still only slightly more powerful than a stock GT......needs more power to make it worth the money....

If you read up on it you'll realize there are suspension mods, performance mods and the seats from the GT500. The exterior appearance is purposefully understated. The price is only slightly higher than a GT Premium so it's a good deal. The problem will be dealer markup. I would still rather buy the GT and mod it though. Much more potential and the add-ons from the Bullitt would be mostly replaced.
