Overboard?

What do you all consider going overboard when it comes to your car?? Iknow I am drooling over madperformance Baer brake kit right now and would love to buy it but i keep thinking that getting brakes like that would be going overboard considering all i do is drive the focus to work and back(5 mile trip). I guess for some people there are no limits but for some reason latley i have been really thinking over why i do and buy somethings? What do you all consider it going overboard on your car?

When you sell your house to mod your car, now that's overboard.

You only live once but a v8 conversion is a bit much as it proibly cost more then what you paid for the car. I limit my self at a turbo

its not overboard, but you'd need to upgrade the rear brakes as well, because you'll throw off the brake bias (and practicality) with Baers in front and stock drums in back

Screwing your credit to buy parts for your car. I didn't do this for the record but I know a guy that did, can't even get a friggin cell phone if he wanted.

i was commenting that you only live once, but a v8 conversion for a focus would be a bit much for me and I would draw the line there as it must cost around $10k to pull it completly off. A turbo for around 5k is were I would draw the line on conversions after that and a few small mods I think thats overboard.

I will be going overboard too, but will take my time and tend 2 whatever is more important first. I guess when u sell off your hubby/wife's car 4 more mod's 4 your Foci, now that is overboard. The way I see it, as long as no one is complaining then don't worry about it. :)

i think whether or not a person is going overboard depends alot on that persons income and expenses. what may be overboard for me may not be overboard for someone who makes more money.

for example, if i had a large sum of money and nothing to spend it on, i do not think a v-8 conversion is overboard, however, if i sell my children on the black market to fund the progect, i think that is overboard.
