Suspension Conversion

So I just bought SVT springs for my ZX3.
I know that usually you need springs and struts, but since they are only supposed to lower the car .75" do I really need them?
Then I got to thinking...well that is extra pressure on the struts/shocks. The car does have 85,000 miles on it.
So Should I get the struts/shocks? What else should I "seriously" consider??
other than a 4 wheel alignment.

Honestly, you really don't need to replace the shocks/struts if they're still good. But at 85000 miles i would swap them. I'm running io 1.5/1.6 drop on my wagon on OEM shocks and struts.

I'd get them if i were to do some spireted driving. But other than that, you should be fine.

yeah, that's the thing. I really don't drive hard at all.
Actually sometimes I'm grandma-ish. I like for people to see my ride. haha
How much should shocks/struts cost realistically? new/used.
I'm sure someone on here has a set to sell...

Well, check out the buy-sell-trade sections. Sometimes you'll find a killer deal.

But i think the OEM's are no more than 300 (and i think i'm exagerating). You really don't need to upgrade unless your current one's are blown and you plan on visiting the track

nope, not at all. I guess I could just put on the springs and then if I find them later put the new struts on...that wouldn't mess up my alignment would it?

Nah, but it's wise to at least have it checked. Specially the front.

whoa! haha this is pretty f'ckn dumb I know. But is it possible that with lowering the alignment may not need adjusted at all? Thusly some shop would "check" it for a relatively low-to-no-cost??
Or am I dreaming?? lol

Well, when i lowered mine, the alighnment was fine. It affected nada. So, i was good to go. So, you should be fine like i stated.

Most shops charge very little or even nothing to check it and find that it's ok or has little to no issues.
