Now I know why Ford is Dying.....

Ok....First off I would like to state that Mike who works for Ford down in NC is the only reason why I still deal with Ford. But to begin my gripe....

**I know...another bash of the 08' Focus**

Went to the Ford Dealership yesterday to look at the loathed 08' Focus and met the WORST sales person I have ever dealt with. Now don't get me wrong, he was extremely nice...but boy was he misinformed.

The thing that truly drew me to this guy were his first comments to me as I was looking at the New Focus (My 02' Sedan Focus was parked right next to me)

Him: "So you drive one of Ford's Beloved 4 Door SVT's"
Me: "We'll I have the rims from one....*chuckle*"
Him: "It has the 2.5lit Zetec in it right?"
Me: ah...no.

ok....so that started it all....then we began talking about the new focus I told him that I was sad they dropped the hatch and how I did not like the chrome everywhere. We continued talking....

Well to end things he stated this....

Him: "Well you should wait a few more months to buy your new focus, because they will be bringing back the SVT focus...and the new Focus' will have an assortment of different body styling to choose from [in reference to the street appearance packages.] "

So in closing, how does Ford train it Sales associates?....because if I was an uniformed buyer....I would have just kept waiting for the new SVT's as well as thinking that I had a fairly decent sized engine to start with.

Thanks for reading my gripe lol.

I didn't know that! that makes it all that much funnier!!!!

I guess all this is why I know what I'm buying before I go to the lot... I go in and point. "That one--write it up!"

I told my sister that either the clown was totally incompetent, or a bald-faced liar, and that either way she should not be buying a car there...

I'm with you on your car purchasing Glen. When I needed this car I had a good idea I wanted a Focus. If I found a real deal on something else I liked I would have took it, but there is nothing quite as bad as driving car lots and looking at cars at random.

I did the blind car shopping years ago and stopped at one lot. Told them I was looking for something small and sporty, with decent gas mileage.
The two cars they had on the lot that matched that -
A late 80's Camaro (Not my style at all)
And, mercifully I forget the name, but basically it was a Metro convertible made in Australia. Yeah, right....
