Hard choice on a new car

Recommend some cars that are max 22K out the door.

Im going to buy a new car in june/july and i will have about 10K cash, 8-10K trade in for my 06 zx5 (will have like 28K miles on it by then)

I looked into the mustang, interior is cheap.... looks nice, alot of mods.... id waste too much money modding it...

GTO is pure sex...... id probably get it in manual even though im not a pro at driving one, id learn.... and 400 HP.... fast and an ultimate sleeper..

or a used Porsche.... its hard.......

looking for a fast sexy car that people will be like "damn, you drive that?" or that i can pull off in and make people go "wow."

haha but of course, i have to love the thing.....

Emm. Ok.. well, I'll give it a whack... hmm... ~22k.. preferably new. Well... that really is a pretty generalized want. Lets try this...

I've heard not too many good things about the GTO's, so if I was you I would walk away from that one.

New car's -

VW GTI... might be able to walk away with one for 22k. With a little bit of minor modding, this standard looking car can be a head turner, and it's got some pep.

Mini Cooper S... again, might...MIGHT be able to pull off 22k, slick cars.

Nissan Sentra (Sentra or Altima, I forget) coupe... stock it's nothing special, but with a bit of work I think it could be very nice.

Used cars...

Chrysler Crossfire... may not be the fastest thing in the world, but man it's a head turner. Can find 20-40k's for around 17k$

Mitsu 3000GT VR4... I don't think they are that pretty to look at, but they are head turners and smokin twin turbo... 80-100k @ 5-7k$

Nissan Sentra SER... Pretty quick and not bad lookin... if you can find one.

Can't really think of much else right now. But if I was looking to get the "oh man you drive that?" comment, I would stay away from Mustangs period. All too common. Gotta get something you don't see often to get comments like that. Either that or drive something with some insane amount of power.

Maybe with more info on what you want it would be a little easier. Heh.

PS sorry I listed mostly foriegn cars... you didn't reallly specify if you wanted domestic only.

2004 VW Golf R32....cant beat a 240/236 on a NA engine(kind of heavy though)...but it's damn sexy!

You should be able to find a used one for around 22k

If you want NEW new, then what about a Cobalt SS? those aren't too shabby. Or a WRC maybe....hmm I'm going on the cheaper side here

I wouldnt recommend a VW. Yes they can be fun to drive, get great gas mileage, but they have some serious faults. Fixing them if something goes wrong (and it will, they're not the most reliable cars) will cost a fortune, think as much as a Mercedes or BMW.

I'd put the idea of an old Ferrari out of your head...the reason why you so seldom see them on the street is because they're ridiculously expensive to keep running. Its not uncommon to have to spend $10,000 or more per year in maintenance and upkeep to keep the damn things rolling. Which is also why you'll see a relatively new one going for, say, $22,000...because the owner doesn't want to keep it due to upkeep costs.

Take this site for example: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...rticleId=49771

They had the 5,000 mile service interval performed on a '01 550M, which consists of the following:

Change oil filter (2)
Change oil (12 quarts)
Change gearbox fluid (8 quarts)
Change air filter (2)
Top off antifreeze
Top off power steering fluid

Grand total at the dealer: $1,459.08

And its not like you can just drive down to Autozone and pick up an oil or air filter for them...

Brand New Dodge Challenger. SWEET looking car.

Caliber SRT-4 for $23k...probably not a favorite, but it's also a sleeper.

Agree on the MazdaSpeed3...as all the reviews say, probably the best hot hatch available.

Used BMW M3 coupe.

Used Porsche 944 turbo. Those things will always look HOT! And they PERFORM! Many people have called it the best steering car to date.

MazdaSpeed Miata?

Used Vette.

BMW Z3.

Mitsubishi Starion. THERE is a badass car. At least looks-wise...

SVT Focus lol...

Hope that helps.
