cold air intake...

hmm, so a friend of mine is telling me not to get a cold air intake put on my zx3 HB because it will in fact... "heat my engine"

why would a cold air intake heat the engine?

maybe he's talking about heat soak that happens with a SRI, usally while idling the heat from the engine bay can heat up your filter and tube. but with a low mount CAI there shouldn't be a problem

I took mine out, once the engine was really warmed up and I drove for at least 1/2 hour, I actually lost power,I mean less power than stock. But when it was at a cooler temp it made more power than stock definately, there was a big difference at both ends of the spectrum. I highly suspect it has to do with the metal piping, because in my Dodge Avenger, I left the rubber hose going to the throttle body and just added a big filter and never experience that, it was all positives.
