So, I'm getting a new car...help!

Well, I've had too many problems recently with my focus, and after getting the quote for a new transmission, I've decided it's time for a new car. I'm thinking maybe a mazda3, matrix, a scion tC that I can get a pretty good deal on, or a lightly used mini cooper s.

so what do you all think? any opinions welcome

I don't know about quailty my mother in law has a mini and she is selling too but she said she has had qui9te a few problems with it. Like window motors and stuff like that. You know the horriable german electrical problems that used to plague alot of german cars. I say mazda 3 now that will be reliable and the parts won't cost an arm and a leg but if I had to choose even though I know the problems that mini's have I would still get the mini it just has that wow factor and not to mention speed already with the best handling a FWD car can have from the factory!

It depends on where your priorities are. The Mini is the "coolest" of the lot, and the Matrix is the least cool. I've also heard of the Mini's having electrical problems. The Mazda3 is good, but the 2.3L (the desirable one) does not get very good fuel mileage. My co-worker has one and gets in the low 20s. The Scion tC is pretty cool and will get decent gas mileage.

For basic transportation that gets good mileage and still has some style I'd probably go for the Scion.

oh yeah I'm 5'8 same thing exspeacialy in the passenger seat. the cup holder just gets in the way and you have to have it out so you shift into 5th. But its kinda like porsche they did'nt have cup holders for the longest time and the only reason why they got them was to make people happy the germans believe driving is a exsperince not lazy time

New transmission? What happened? Do you really need a new transmission or are you getting sodded by a stealership?

Getting a new car is a really expensive proposition, unless you're made of money.

If it were me, I'd go the 3.
