well in my eyes...the svt motor is best. its just a modified zetec. then the 2.3 duratec and the 2.0 duratec, zetec, and then spi. anything from an 02 on will be good years. the early years had the recalls. the best fofo i would think (rather then the svt) would be an 04 with the 2.3l duratec. the best body style(to me) and one of the better motors. the 2.3 just lightly modded will keep up with an svt. the saleen fofo is just a kitted focus and an exhaust.

I like the SVT's myself. I have a regular ZX3, but love the way the SVT drives. If I had to choose now, I'd buy a used SVT over a newer car. I haven't driven the 05+ ST's yet however. The Zetec engines are pretty solid if you ask me (SVT or regular).

Uh, did you forget the nitrous and the suspension? The N2O versions come with a nitrous kit. Both versions have a great suspension setup. The 04's used the 2.3 zetec, the 05's had the 2.0 duratec.

The 05 has a 2.0 duratec,(which is what I have) the 04 has 2.3 zetec. I've heard the void the warranty question a millions times. Why would you put a turbo, or a supercharger, or new cams, etc. in your car then too? They all void the warranty too. Most any major engine mod voids the warranty. The nitrous is Saleens doing, not Fords, thus why should Ford be expected to warranty it?

Its a 2.3l Duratec. The Focus never, ever, came from the factory with a 2.3l Zetec. I know of only one 2.3l Zetec, and that was built by Tom.

You are right, I am sorry. I have been misinformed about the 04.
