Meeting his match

This guy must love a challenge. How's he going to make people want to buy the new Focus?

im curious to see how he gets this stuff to sell as well...ford kinda went out there and took some huge risks and didnt really have much to back the risks in the process...this guy might be the backup they need...but who knows if one guy will be enough to make everyone love the saturn-looking focus with chrome everywhere and fender stickers...and no place for an aftermarket stereo...and no power...etc...im curious to see how he handles this

Let's see he creates a Epsilon off shoot (get it Toyota, Scion... T then S... Ford, Epsilon... F then E) with some K-cars and lots of aftermarket options.

Then again... he might get creative...

I don't see Ford going under, but they need to produce cars that are worth buying over other brands before people will buy them. I don't think marketing has as much to do with Ford's problems than what they are producing. They've had two vehciles come out that are actually decent if you ask me, the Edge (if you are into small SUV's), and the Fusion (which needs a standard version V6 model). Everything else just seems Blah.

I thought the Fusion was cool from pre-production pics - I mean it's a good-looking car and all - but, man, is IT blah in reality. Blah features, blah interior, blah quality.

I do think the Edge is great-looking for what it is, although I hate that class of car.

The Mustang is pretty cool, of course.

Cancelling the Ford GT was just lame.

your right there is already an aftermarket for the Fusion and it'll grow. The 4 cyl model is a little blah, well a lot blah. The 6 cyl is pretty quick stock. I like the way it drives also. My wife is looking at a new car in a year as well as I, and between the two of us, one will own a Fusion.

I don't think the marketing guy has much - if anything - to do with what products are offered. He's just responsible for pimping whatever products are AVAILABLE (and we know those Euro beauties ain't).
