Question for all you Focus people

Me and my wife bought a 2004 ZTS awhile back with 5,800 miles on it that had been wrecked and fixed. Its now got 46,200 miles on it ....runs...drives...shifts great . You can run a carfax on it and it comes back salvage but the title is clear.I sold my truck ( F150 ) and bought her a new Altima . What do you guys think i could get in trade or sell outright for .Nothings wrong with it i just dont like the bodystyle and am going to get another small car so i can keep good gas mileage. The car is obviously all stock since it was my wife's.Inside is in great shape and everything works.Like i said we put 40,000 miles on it so its a great running car.....any thought's would be appreciated :)

The salvage is going to hurt it, but it has the wonderful 2.3l Duratec engine. Its more about finding the right buyer, but if I had to wager, anywhere between 5,000-8,500. (The 5,000 might be what to expect from a dealer)

Why not just keep it?? You seem to like it, and that motor is good to 200k easy. The motor is barely broken in.

.
Being a ZTS doesn't necessarily mean it has the 2.3.
ST - yes
ZTS - no. (maybe, maybe not)

I agree with viney...
if your looking for a small car that gets good gas mileage...well...look in the garage. my buddy has a 2.3 in his 04 sedan and he has around 180k on it and it still runs like new and retains about a 30mpg hwy rate. if you maintain the motor well, the car will last you a pretty good wile. the car might not be 'as' sexy as some other compacts, (although i find the focus a very beautiful car) but if it gets you where your going safely, and with little out of pocket for gas...does it really matter if it's sexy?

but as for the original topic... sell it yourself for around 4.5-5k in autotrader, or something. being a salvage car and having the malignant focus depreciation hurts it's resale value.

please don't trade it it.. a dealership will not give you much being a salvage.. with 40,000 miles only, you can sell it privately quickly.

I'd say keep it!~~ If you're getting tired of the body you can always mod it some! get a nice front lip like mine has and give it some umph! Buy a few parts here and there and spice it up some! hell I've already invested about 7k into mine "dont ask where"! I never want to get rid of it! ill wait till it rusts out and then repaint it :)
