Cd1 (C1) vs C170 Engine Bay Question.

I have been thinking about making a 10 second Focus lately and was wondering if anyone can tell me the differences between the two in terms of the engine mounting. I need to know because if they are the same I will simply get parts to install my Volvo motor into the chassis and be on my way. I should note the engine uses a standalone. Also, the euro ST's using a ford or volvo transmission? If its a volvo unit and the engine will fit I will start looking for a beater focus. If it uses a Ford trans are they strong? 600-700whp handling?

Thanks
Fishey

Not a single person?...

Come on Come on... The ST uses a volvo motor (a bad one) but still a volvo motor. Now, all I want to know is can I stuff a similar motor into a focus here in USA given the fact that the cars are actually different but similar.

different frame.
Your best bet for a 10 second focus is a caged RWD V8 conversion kit, may I suggest tubbing it and a stroked and juiced 351w to say 408ci. A FWD focus will cost a lot to get to 10 seconds

First thing to do would be to strip it too the bare essentials, which is like next to nothing, and install a roll cage. And the ST's in europe with the volvo 5cyl, are totally different foci, different chassie, different frame etc etc. What kinda volvo engine do you have, what kinda power is it making etc. Either way like the above post said itll be hard and take alot of money to make the focus a 10 sec car with fwd.
