Help for new Focus owner please

Hi all,

1st post here, so apologies if I've gone against any forum ettiquete.

Got my 1st Focus last week (a 2006 1.6zetec vvt in silver), I'm loving it but am in need of some assistance on 2 things :

1) I am missing one of the covers where the roof bars would fit, can anyone point me to somewhere onlien that I can get one?, I have had a google but come up blank.

2) A am wondering if there is a way of getting a connector to allow me to connect my ipiod to teh standard Ford stereo?

Thanks in advance all.

I believe by roof bar you mean the A Pillar? Is it the plastic piece between the windshield and the side window?

As far as the Stereo I'm not sure being that you have a UK focus.....but I know for my Stock headunit I could not so I bought an aftermarket one.

Welcome to FF!

for your stereo, you can always buy an fm transmitter to plug your ipod into..

http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?...0%2F%20charger

it just works on radio frequency.. my sister has one in her car.. it works great.. even in tunnels!!

FM transmitter is your best bet. Its like a mini radio station in your car, that transmits waves to your antenna, which in turn goes to the radio and out the speakers, so like Lou said, things like tunnels and other obstrucitons wont matter.

As far as the A-Pillar trim, you could check out a local Ford dealership for parts, or a junk yard.

Actually an inline frequency converter would be your best bet. You connect the factory antenna in one end and the other end into the back of the stereo. Instead of transmitting a signal that could and usually gets drowned out by Sirius and XM users in town, it physically takes over the frequency you will tune the HU to.

Your best bet on the missing cover would be to go to the dealer and get them to find the part. It may be a bit more expensive, but you'll get the right part the first time.

As for the iPod connector, again you can get it from the dealer, but I would just get the part number from them and order it elsewhere as that can expensive. You have a Mk2, right? If so I think that there is an Aux input on the back of even the standard stereo for satellite radio or a cd changer. If that is the case then Ford (and other companies) should have an adapter to add an input./

Being from London you may want to ask these questions on FFOC.
Most of them are in the UK as well and will be able to better answer your questions than most of us.
