Thinking of buying an SVT - Questions

Hey,

I was driving by a lot tonight and I saw an SVT 5 door for $15,870 and thought that was a steal. This model has the audiofile system, HID lights, and moonroof/seat heaters/block heater.

Since I am in the market for a car and this is a great deal, I am strongly considering getting it. however the gas mileage doesnt exactly suit me. I was wondering what mpg all you SVT drivers out there are averaging? Also, i have read that these cars or more prone to trouble - so let me know how reliable yous has been?

Thanks everyone :)

They also have a ZX3 premium 5-speed on the lot. Its a 2004 with the audiophile system and sunroof, PZEV motor. I wonder what I can get it for. I'm not so sure if buying the SVT is a good idea for me, i;m not too happy with the gas mileage and idea that I have to use premium gas, but then again its an SVT. Decisions Decisions.

SVT gas mileage

Here you go.
The Everything you ever wanted to know about SVT gas mileage thread.

Incidentally, as far as my mileage has been in city conditions.
(Take these numbers with a grain of salt, as Helena is not a very big "city".)
My worst was 24.5mpg, which was the first full tank of city driving, and just over the 500 mile mark.
Same consistent city driving conditions at 1,900 miles now, and I'm at 26.2mpg.

The only prolonged highway trip I've done so far was from Boise to here when I bought it.
With the tight engine and only 47 miles old, the trip average was 30.01mpg.
As far as the EPA estimates, most SVT owner's are exceeding them, by quite a bit.
