Question Hot Engine Air And Short Ram Intakes ??

Everybody keeps talking about the hot engine air and short ram intakes don't mix ?
But yet you can raise the hood on alot of mustangs/camaros/etc V6/V8's
And there on top sets an open airfilter with a nice chrome cover on it !!

Nobody never had a problem with those?

Or is it because the eng compartment is so tight ?

Just curious ?

short ram intakes are pretty much hot air intake, there for looks and air travels through less piping but you get hot air, and it makes some noise not as much as cold air would though, cold air intake is the way to go

doesn't make that much difference once you're moving. I'm doing a test with thermostats in different locations under the hood. When you're sitting still the short ram can suck more hot air, that's about it. I had a short ram, now I have a cai. I'm going back to the short ram with the new motor.
