No, they've been re-making old models with new parts/old parts/reconditioned parts, sort of a frankenstein DeLorean.

If you read the article, these are completely new models.

That's okay..... but I don't know if anyone would consider buying one.... in this timeline. I think the future car of our timeline has got to be the Prius or the Camry.

I bet is going to be another useless piece of crap that I won't mind give it a piece of my mind.

this will be a old DeLorean on the outside however it will get upgrades on the inside and drivetrain, so pretty much taking the huge flaws out of the original and making them less of an issue

the biggest liability of the Delorean was the engine. That v6 (known as the PRV) is considered to be one of the worst motors ever (especially from that particular vintage). Volvo used them in their 260, 760, and 780 models and the motor was nothing short of problematic - while still being anemic. The motors tended to eat the cams - and the filings of the cams would jam up the works. Great design.

The PRV really didn't become a solid motor until around 1988 when it was revised to go into the Eagle Premier. (ironically it turned out to be the most solid part on the whole car).

I would hope that any new or updated Delorean for $60k would have something other than that godforsaken PRV motor. It's the only motor Volvo used that makes any good european car mechanic cringe.

(I had the unfortunate pleasure of owning a PRV equipped Volvo 780 - the car was great - the engine utter rubbish - during the PRV debacle Volvo discovered the joys of turbocharging - so some good came of it.)
