i was in the right lane and my friend was in in the left lane in his truck. we were both speeding and i just happned to be a head of him when we went past a cop that was on one of the side roads. cop wips out get my friend and then their was a road bock set up for me. i get pulled over cop says i was racing a truck and did i kno who it was. takes me lic and reg and my passangers id. come back 30mins later with a street racing ticket, agressive driving, and essive speed.(i didnt break 65 and it was in a 40) i go to pull away and theirs 4 cops behind me so my guess it was speed trap. so now what do i do i have a cort date no amount of fine tho but i kno its gonna be bad. did any one else get pulled for this? im in flso if any one kno anything

best bet is to go to court, insist that there was no racing going on, and that you and your friend were both going to the same place and that you agree that you were both speeding, tell the judge that the police had obviously picked you both out because, either your vehicles are high profile vehicles, or loud or both. you know what or just get together with your friend, get your story striaght and go to a lawyer, it wil be worth it, in the long run, your insurance will go up drastically and you may even have your license suspended. Often when you put up a fight in traffic court, they will drop it, or work with you because it's starts costing them money to run the legal system any further. Hopefully the cop that wrote the ticket will not be able to make the court date, if he doesn't then don't let them reschedule you, legally you win the case by default, and they should drop it.

same thing happened to me about two years ago. I pulled out of Burger King and was going along side my buddy who was just going down the road, so we went at it I got pulled over doing 95 in a 40. OUCH!! well by the time he pulled me over, i was already in front of my other buddies house, i go to get out of the car and the cop tackles me handcuffs me. I was like oh crap i'm going to jail. My buddies mom calls my dad and he comes down and yells at the cop. when the cop realized who my dad was he let me go but still gave me a drag racing ticket. i got my license suspended for 90 days and had a pretty good fine to go with it.

My advice, get a lawyer and get your story straight with your buddy, thats really the only way

Is aggressive/excessive driving the same as reckless driving? I know in Chicago it's best to get an attorney for reckless driving and usually suspended for a few months. I guess your lucky your car wasn't impounded and sold at auction or crushed.

ya know i don't really know. cuz on friday on my way back from the dealer and got pulled over for doing 79 in a 60mph construction zone. ooh felt that one... but he was cool and wasn't too hard on me and dropped it down to 60 for me. But i work as a golf professional at a country club and one of the members is a lawyer and takes care of all my tickets for me. I guess i have it pretty easy then. lol
