Question 1st Oil Change, What oil is used from factory?

800 miles on the Focus so I wanted to remove the first oil and put in a fresh batch. As I drained the pan this green/brown fluid runs out . Anyone know what kind of oil is used from the factory. It sure did not look or act like Motorcraft 5w-20w.

Green/Brown sounds like coolant in the oil.

Not good.

Yeah there should be 5w-20 in there... green doesn't sound good at all.

800 miles? Dealer time!

Is your coolant level low? If so you may have coolant in your oil. Not good at all. I would take it to the dealer and get her all checked out for sure. Better safe then sorry.

Not sure but I don't think that its coolant in the oil, generally when that happens you get something with a milky color/consistency. Whatever you decide to do you need to send off a sample of that for analysis. Can't remember the company that does it, but if you check on bob is the oil guy you should be able to find out who will do it.

The coolant in the Focus is 5 year stuff and orange, not green. The fluid was oil, all oil. It just looked different. Almost like a standard 30w oil. Does Ford use a break-in oil?

According to the owner's manual, Ford does not use break-in oil.
