My Zx5 Pzev Experience

Well, I was on vacation in vegas last week and decided to rent a car to go the the hoover dam and the red rock canyon. So i go to budget, and in they bring what???.........
But a white automatic zx5 pzev focus!!.So i was happy about this.I own a focus as you can see in my profile. A 5 spd 2000 sedan with the zetec.I drove the rental vehicle over 250 miles and here are my impressions of the car I wanted to share with you guys and girls.

1)The gas comsumption is awesome!!!! Way better than my zetec.
2)On the highway, the engine feels stronger and more ready than the zetec and quieter.
3)The fact it was automatic of course hampered the performance but by my driving impressions, I can see why pzev owners with a 5 speed, once they put a couple of mods, they are hauling *#$$!!.
4)The car had the premium sound system with the mp3 player!(i wish I knew I was renting this car, i would have brought my mp3 disc from my car on the trip!!!)Good sound overall.
5)I found the transmission to be a little undecisive when I floored the throttle, but as I said IT was an automatic.(for all you automatic readers, no offense!!!!!, I just love stick-shift.)

WHat can I say......Focus rules in any incarnation.Very impressed with the PZEV engine......
But i Still love my ZETEC.!!

Current Mods:

Magnaflow Catback, Steeda High Flow Intake, YFRO ECU update.

Too bad Ford has already canned this engine in the focus ( at least from what i am hearing) It has a lot of potential and hopefully the aftermarket won't die on it after Ford is done with it.

No, it still exists, just without the PZEV equipment. It comes standard only on the ZX4 ST in 2005.
