Why are there so many more ZX3's then ZX5's?

I understand the 5 door ZX5 wasn't introduced until 2002, but why are there so many more 3 door ZX3's driving around then 5 doors? I would think people would be interested in not having to move the seat up to let people in the back and being able to store things in the backseats easier. What do you guys think?

Because REAL cars only have two doors.

I wanted a zx3 but with a kid and dog the zx5 made more sense. Also I wanted the hatch.

A ZX5 is nice from the practicality standpoint, its the best of both worlds (sedan & hatch)...you get the four doors and the cargo flexibility of a hatch. From a performance standpoint its less desireable...the rear doors add weight, and (granted this is subjective) I think the little windows in the rear ruin the clean lines of the ZX3, but that's just me.

Haha, I've never even noticed those little windows in my car. Would the ZX3's be cheaper due to 2 less doors? I wouldn't think so but idk.

I have a wagon, and I thought the zx5 was ugly at first ( I like the zx3), but it has grown on me, and the practicallity is nice. Just more young people with no kids buying zx3's I guess.

I'm a fan of the two-door hatch style. It's a look that I enjoy. My car is my daily driver/commuter. I'm usually the only one in the car. If this was the only vechicle for my family, and my kids were still infants, the four-door hatch would be more practical....but I'ld still get the ZX-3.
