svt and svtf are the same thing it means SVT Focus
and are you sure that you're ready for a BEAST like that in your age?????

With a SVT Focus comes a lot of responsibility. First never drive it with out using some kind of protection such as a seat belt. Also she will not give out her full potential on the first drive you have to get to know her inside and out, her habits, how to make her happy,....but then once you know that you can drive her right and safe she will show you the best time of your life.

make sure the clutch doesnt rattle in neutral, other than that just normal stuff when looking at a used car..oil, service records, body damage, clean interior, (my motto is if the car is maintained very well..especially under the hood and it looks really clean..no fluids and such then it was PROBABLY taken care of)

Happy Hunting!

i wouldn't let you drive my spi if you were my brother. but damn if you were my dad i wouldn't let you touch my svt. the other guy is smart you don't need all that power at your age. all that is going to happen is a whole bunch of speeding tickets and a wrecked car. when is was your age i got 4 tickets in the time span of 6 months that is 13 points in 6 months but i took the school so i did not loose my drivers license.
but nice chocie on going with the focus
good luck but play it safe when your young

I've driven an automatic SPI (the weakest focus ever made), a manual zetec (the most common focus), and an SVT.

I thought that going from the SPI to the Zetec was a big jump, then one of the guys on here let me drive his SVT and I was scared out of my mind because I didn't want to break anything or crash it so I drove real carefull and still even light driving in an SVT blows any other Focus out of the water.

And a word of advice, when you go to look at a car dress for success. Wear something business casual and they will let you test drive it. I'm only 20 and I've gotten to test drive a few cars. Some of the used car dealers in this area are real generous though I just point at the car hand them my keys and they toss me a plate and their keys. Sometimes I just do it for fun after work since I'm already dressed nicely.

some of you peaple are acting like the svt is a real "Powerhouse" even I know the car isnt really made for speed. however you can make them killer but stock its nothing more than a fun little daily driver!
as for the svt svtf thing I dont know how that didnt jump out at me I guess some brain cells werent firing last night. I respect this forum because its not a bunch of kids my age messing around if it was I would never be here. this is a really cool site and thinks to the people that helped!!

its not a powerhouse but outhandles most cars on the road allowing you to puch it further than most and what most are saying is that you want to test the limits in it and it can be dangerous, like trying to take a 90deg turn at 80mph or some other stupid crap like that.

Hey guys, its cool, he is excited about a car !!! I LOVE to see that. Great choice. I would check insurance quotes first. If they are close, go for the SVT. There are some good ones popping up used these days, just have to look around.
