2002 Focus shifting problems

Hi guys, I have a 2002 Focus SE sedan (I just bought then thing used). It has 62000 km's on it, and has the 2.0Zetec engine. Heres the problem:

When you first start the car and drive it everything is fine. After a bit of driving on the highway to get it heated up a bit(about 20-30min), the car stops wanting to shift. You put the pedal to the floor, the RPM's go to about 5000 and stop there and the car just wont shift to the next gear. If you let off of the gas a bit and then hit it again it shifts and goes fine. It does this in all gears once the engine warms up (wont even go 1->2).

The car went into ford and they couldnt find anything wrong with it. Took it out on the weekend, and it did it again. Ford now has it back. What could be causing this? No warning lights come on. What is broken and how much does it cost to fix? Thanks for helping out a new member.
