Shaving Weight

If one were to go nuts and began to jettison unnecessary components, how much weight could his or her Focus lose? (assuming the Sawzall is left in its case)

I mean, who really needs carpet, sound deadening, a back seat, door and roof paneling, sound system, a/c, etc.

I have an acquaintance with a stripped down older Civic that weighs in at under 1800 lbs with him in it. I know we cant touch that, but...

When you go drag racing it is worth the time to remove the jack, spare tire, etc. Unless the vehicle is a serious race only pig, its really not worth the time and lack of comfort IMO.

I bet you could drop 2-300 pretty easily.

AC
PS
Passanger and Rear Seats
Spare + Jack
Lighter Battery
No carpet/sound deadening
1/4 Tank Gas

Only thing you have to pay for there is the lighter battery.

you could get the car under 2500 lbs with no spare and jack (40 lbs), no backseat and a 1/4 tank of gas
