well, i'm doin it...

... buying a Fusion, that is. long story short, it's VERY likely that i'll be gettin my FoFo paid off completely within the next month, so i'll have a nice big trade-in without any rollover (and lower monthly payments!)

the past week i've been seein what these things can look like with a small amount of work done, and have been VERY impressed. yesterday i went for a test drive, and it completely sold me.

i still love my focus, haven't had any problems with it, it's just time for an upgrade. there's so many buttons and things to play with in those things, i was like a kid in a candy store! but seriously, fusions are REALLY nice cars. oh, and AWD

oooooo you paid yours off before I did.. I'm so jealous. I still have $3k to go.

The Fusion came out RIGHT AFTER I bought the wagon. I wanted one immediately, but those early ones were bad for accident safety as I remember. Those problems are solved now.

Kudos to ya... are you getting the V6 or 4 cyl? Forgive my ignorance, I bet the AWD doesn't come with a 4 cyl right? If they offer a CVT...drive it.. those are fun!

it's not paid off.... yet! in about a month or so it should be, though. oh, and there's that pesky liilte thing about needing a job and all to get credit, so that has to happen.

anyways, yeah the awd is only for the v6, which i'll be gettin anyways. and sadly, cvt's aren't even an option for fusions. they have 6-speed autos, though. and let me tell you, that's the smoothest shifting i've ever felt from an auto!

not trying to hate, but didn't you read the rant from the guy who rented one of these???

let me see if I can find it, and I'll link it.

edit: here's the link:

http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showt...=fusion+rental

that being said, maybe he just had a really bad one-time type experience. however, it might be worthwhile to research a bit more about the fusion and finding out if these problems are commonalities, and if so, if there are any easy fixes.

I thought the "quasi-dual exhaust" was kinda funny. At least they are not like other manufacturers who don't admit that the dual exhaust is not truly dual- like every freaking Camaro on the road with a dual outlet muffler.

What happened to the 100k warranty? When I bought my Focus I had a standard 100k drivetrain warranty.. but I see the Fusion only has 60k! I tried to look for the one on the Focus, but couldn't find it. Maybe Ford got scared.. I mean it's not as if you could get them to honor it anyway.

Best of luck bro. As far as the job thing, I know how it is, I'm union, we're used to getting laid off. I know all the ladies at the unemployment office by first name, bring them flowers, candy, etc. I'm currently not working on purpose so I can complete this fiancee visa thing I've been working on for a year. One more month.. no more cold lonely bed.

(Also, no more saving money, no more even considering car modding, no more drunken college girls littering the living room floor, no more staying up to 3 am on FF)

yeah, i'd like to read that.

but of course i've been perusing the Fusion forums and found that 99% of the owners have nothing but praise for their cars. one of the forums is almost as big as this one, if you can imagine.

apparently there's a nice litle aftermarket for these, and Ford is doing good at correcting problems. ALSO... looks like they're really good on insurance, too! i think i'm making a wise decision about this.

but yeah, post that link and i'll definitaley read it

my parent's bought an 07 blue V6 with AWD this past fall. They love it all around. I have a hard time getting a chance to drive it, lol. I think she's afraid I"m gonna race it or something... well I'd worry about that too if I were her ;)

yeah they actually tell you it's not a true dual. it'd be kind of hard to do on a front-mounted v6 though, i think. as far as the warranty, yeah the best one they offer is the 5/60 one.

as far as the woman thing, it's definitaley a trade-off! i feel for ya. where's your girl at, anyways?

Phillipines, the best women in the world, we met in Hong Kong after meeting in Yahoo Chat in 03. Back in the day when there were such things as "User Rooms" and I belonged to an avid group of chatters in this special secret twighlight zone no porn bot room called 30s Love:1, the part that screwed up the bots was that our room had no apostrophe, so all the bots went to 30's Love:1 instead. It was a Java glitch. NAMBLA later screwed them up, we all separated, but I keep in touch with a few.

I'm going to have fun teaching her how to drive, but the cool thing is that ever since we met in HK she keeps telling me how she sees all these Fords in the Phils.. LOL I was chasing after Fords in HK all the time- when I wasn't being assaulted by Indians trying to sell me watches or a tailor made suit.
