I don't think it's what you're going to be looking at, it's what you're going to be hearing.. which is nothing but your exhaust after you put the header on.

The best way to figure that out is to take it to a dyno, most notably a dyno being run by someone who knows how to tune for these cars like Tom at Focus-Power in NC. No matter what you have now, that will get you 5-10 more hp, and a much better driving experience.

As a guess, I'd say you're right up there with the stock 2.3 now. The K&N is supposed to give 10-12 on the bigger motor, and the Magnaflow about 6 or so. My guess would be around 135 whp. With the header maybe 10 more-maybe. The weird part is that when you go start adding these parts together, they don't always add on top of each other like you might imagine. A good dyno tune will help that magic happen for sure.

Every car is different. The 2.0 makes what, 130hp? So I'd guess with those mods, you'll be at like 160hp, probably around 140whp. Not really the correct forum either.

10-12? Someones been reading the ads for the Ford 150. If you could get that for such a simple mod, don't you think Ford would bring the SVT back and charge $2K more for it. Lets get real , maybe 3-5

Too many dreamers out there

Hate to burst your bubble, but if you noticed, he said on the bigger motor, meaning the 2.3l Duratec. And that engine has repeatable shown gains of 10-12hp with a variety of CAIs.

I'm in the bubble bursting dept, not the dreamer dept. K&N claims 10-12, actually I think it was 11.5 hp increase with their Gen2 CAI for the Duratec ON THE D23. I have no idea what it boosts the D20 to.

There's another thread where some guy thinks he has 155 hp with just a cat-back. Now that's dreaming.

Dynos tell more truth. Guessing is nowhere near reliable, but it does give that warm and fuzzy feeling that you've spent your hard earned cash on something worthwhile.
