07 Duratec questions

I have a '07 Focus S on order and am loking for a Ford online Service Manual link and Parts Link. I want to install speed control and am wondering if the kit availiable for the Zetec motor will work on the Duratec. Are they basically the same engine or are they completely different? The only mods I'm planning on doing are basically appearance, so far I have purchased SVT 5 spokes but I'm considering CAI will this affect my warrantee?
Thanks,
Grant

1) completely different, you're better off with a good aftermarket speed control, like from Sparkomatic, that has other options, costs less, and works with your stock signal. Do some involved research, all cruise controls are not the same, an be sure to get one that recognizes the Ford signal, it will save you pain and suffering.

2) Shame you already got the SVT 5 spokes, those are some of the heaviest aluminum wheels made for the Focus, you would've spent less on a set of Rotas from one of our sponsors than on those- and not taken a fuel economy hit for it. Although, if you're going from steel to aluminum, any change would most likely be an improvement. Check the wheels and tires forum for more information.

3)It depends on the problem as to whether or not the CAI or other mods affect the warranty. The basic rule is that if the mod causes an issue, then the warranty is void. For example (and this happened) if the oil pump goes out on the motor, then regardless of your mods, the fault is still with the manufacturer. However, if your CAI ends up sucking up a large amount of water and hydrolocking the engine, you end up paying for the repair.

I hope that helps. EGAD... I just saw you're Canadian, I know US law, but not Canadian law. Maybe some of our Canadian FF's can help you with how the warranty is interpreted in your country. Sorry.... it should be close to the same... LOL... probably better since your government is less corporate sponsored than ours is

fordparts.com you can find parts for the focus
not sure if the zetec crusie works on the dura, id say no due to newer car and maybe a new wire harness
as for the cai only way it affects warranty is if it direct leads to a problem on your car, say you went through a puddle and hydolocked it then they can point to the cai, otherwise its all covered still
