uhm... there's a reason we use EG.

Yes, water has a higher Kt (thermal conductivity) its like ~0.3 for EG to 0.6 for water. So in theory it is indeed a "more efficient" heat exchanger

BUT water would start boiling like mad and the vapor would rupture your hoses in no time flat. Gas "takes up more space" than liquid.

As a general rule, use coolant for every day driving.

However, in warmer climes, you could go with a 50/50 mix and maybe run some "water wetter".

However, as someone indicated before, there are necessary lubricants in the coolant for the water pump. There is also corrosion to think about.

So, is water a more efficient coolant? Only in the short term.

yep, agreeing with all here, the anti-freeze has a lower freezing point, but it also has a higher boiling point. so in your case it would be more of an anti-boil, and yes also stops corrosion, and lubricates your pump.

dude...100% coolant would gum everything up.your better off running 100%water.thoes two mixturs work together. its usually 50 /50 or 60/40, somtimes 70/30... depending on your environment.(thats the higher part water of course.)
