Question about heavy mileage on Focus

Theres like 81,000 so should I keep it as long as I can or sell it before it has too many miles. Its my first car so I dunno

How many miles can you put on a car before it umm..explodes or something?

81k is nothing so long as it has been taken care of. So long as you treat the car right, and keep up on the maintenance, it should last another 200k easily. If its a manual, you may need a clutch before then, if its an auto you may need a trans rebuild before then, all depends if it has had regular fluid and filter changes.

And how much you beat on it too. Over all if you're a relaxed and competent driver and stay on top of fluid changes and making sure everything has enough fluid and the fluid is clean. Now if you're wondering about resale value, idealy you'll want to sell any car before it reaches 100k miles, after that there's usually a drop in the resale price. Since this is your first car I wouldn't worry about resale price though, just take good care of it.
