Ok Let's Have it...

I love my ZX3...so much in fact that I'm thinking of trading it in for an SVT focus (hooked since my first test drive) in the near future and have been using the search on here for more information.

It seems to me that all I find is threads highlighting all the problems with this vehicle. To be frank, reading this is getting me a bit discouraged from getting one. Can we have some people come forth with good, positive driving experiences in this car?

I by no means am crazy about modding my vehicle. I just want to take the vehicle for what it is, so in my case, I would be using the vehicle for to/from work, which is about 5 miles away on open highway, and occasionally hitting the backroads for some fun.

I love the car and would hate to be put off by such negativity surrounding TSBs and such. So let's have it -- if you got an SVT that you love and it's treated you well, post it here. I hope to one day (hopefully soon) be the proud owner of one of these baby monsters....

I have had an SVT for over 3 years, which has about 60K on it. I have raced it 6 months out of the year since I bought it (1st race was 19 hours after I got it), and have had one or 2 minor niggles (slow master cylinder leak, craked wire, replace the horn) and that's it. It's been a tough little workhorse and it still feels fun every day.
Don't waste another minute waiting on parts, or anything else. Just get out there and start racing! You will suck at first, and you will be slower than many other cars, but the only thing you will regret is not starting earlier...

There are actually VERY few tsb's on the svt. The main one is the clutch, but with that taken care of, theres really not that many problems. Its a matter of care for the car that can make a difference also. These cars can be drivin alot harder than most and hold up better. The few other small things like the clutch master leaking, thats such an easy job and nothing to worry about. Considering the abilities of the car compared to what problems you may have, i think its well worth it. Just take care of her.
