I really need another vehicle. I had a 2005 Ford Focus SES until my wife wrecked it 3 months later. What's the best I'm going to get on price for a SE or SES? I live in the DFW area and they seem to have a ton of dealers to choose from. I am currently driving a 2005 Ford Fivehundred.

I was just listening to XM radio and some dealer in the Cincinatti are was advertising $8988 on a new '07 Focus.

What's an S model? Isn't it an SE? What was your car lacking when you bought it? Did they leave out A/C or something?

XM?! PLUGH, Sirius is the way to go.

You could probably find a bare bottom focus for that price. But thats no fun, I just spent like 2-3 G's more and got leather, power everything, sunroof, etc.

yea, and to get the bare bottom price, you have to belong to a bunch of different associations, like the American quarter horse, and whatnot.... It's pretty ridiculous.

Wait until the 08 hits the dealerships. With the body change you will be able to get a leftover 07 for dirt cheap.

With X-plan, and the rebates, I got a pretty decent deal on my 07 zx3 last night. It's an 07 zx3 se with mtx, sunroof, upgraded stereo, power everything, and all the goodies. Sticker was around 17k, My price before rebates was 15k and change. Because of the special financing, we only got 1k in rebates (car show and bonus finance cash). All tolled, it wasn't a bad deal at all. Best of all, I got the exact config I wanted (save for the sport package).

Around here they were knocking 3500 off the price ($2500 rebate, $1000 auto-show bonus) and usually they can knock off another $1000 in capital cost reduction or dealer profit, but that is still a little low.

Check the fine print. I've seen dealers advertise really tempting prices, but when you read at the bottom the price is after your downpayment and trade-in.
