Ford and Focus in Consumer Reports

Has anybody else checked out the recent Consumer Reports auto issue? I thought everyone would be complaining like last year when CR didn't have one non-japanese car in their top 10 picks. Well...they still don't have non-japanese car in the top 10, but I was looking at the ratings and reliablity info. It makes for interesting Ford-car related reading.

1. Focus is still decent. Check this: In CR's vehicle ratings, which are composed of how the vehicle performs, The Focus still scores a high 77 mark. Its competitors, the Honda Civic (the third generation since the Focus was released) only manages a few points better at 81. The Mazda 3 gets 78.

2. Ford Fusion reliability: The Fusion had excellent 1st year reliability. What a change from the first year of the Focus! The Fusion was as good as an Accord or Camry!

Good to hear, I'm sick of everyone I know calling my car a piece of shit. Yet one guy I know has gone through a Mistu Lancer Ralliart, and a Mazda Protege 5. And my Fo keeps on truckin'.

My Focus ST is 100% reliable!

Except for when my engine blew up with 2,000 miles on it.

(but that's why God made WARRANTIES)

LOL

Why weren't you able to understand my post Sinan?

To reiterate, I said: "... that's why God made WARRANTEES".

My engine was completely replaced ABSOLUTELY FREE OF CHARGE (it cost Ford over $6,000 though).

I also got to drive a brand new Ford AT NO ADDITIONAL COST during the month it took them to replace the engine.

Any more questions?

no, you didnt understand me. I wasn't implying that it WAS you who blew up the engine, I was asking if it was factory fault or owner forcing the engine too much.

Since my dad's Hyundai had its engine replaced the first year, and he doesn't force his cars. Jeez take it easy, Mr. Nerve Guy j/k man..

"Owner forcing too much"?

That implies the same thing as saying it was me who blew up the engine.

There's really no essential difference between the two statements.

LOL

Guess you don't know me too well.

'Cause that WAS me taking it easy.
