throttle body cover help

I was under my hood today cuz i aint got work , so ive wanted to take that plastic cover off my TB. Will it hurt anything, like would it rust the spring in the rain or snow when i take the cover off? its all shiney and everything, jsut wondering if they had that cover on there for a reason to prevent rust or somthing

its to prevent you from screwing the the cables and such.

naw, its there for asthetics. just as the coil-pack over and degas cover and battery cover.
