Exclamation problem

i was driving down the road and all of the sudden i started to smell a smell that smelled like burnt marshmellow and then started smoking so i got home turned it off and looked where it was smoking. it was the panel on the passenger side under the glove compartment so i took it out and put the fire out and then saw what started it that was a green square fuse looking object and was hot so i unplugged it and now dont know what to do. can anyone help me
