7 Grand to Spend

Gonna come into some money around August just wanted to get some opinions on what I should get. I know I am going to get a turbo kit, clutch, and flywheel. What else do you think I should add on. Basicly the car is going to be a weekend warrior if that helps.

What I currently have
2003 Focus Zx3
Header
Intake
Exhaust
Underdrive Pulley
Cam Gears
65mm Throttle Body
Eibach Sportline Pro Kit

Boost controller unless you include that as part of the kit. (Some dont.)

Edit: I'd go ahead and fully build the internals too. That will take a huge chunk of the money but it'll save you from headaches later with the turbo.

SVT bumper kit. Best $400 I spent in my entire life! Well okay, $800 something with paint and install. But still, best money I ever spent! Secretly hoping that someone will rear end me lightly, so I can get the rear done too. :-D

Kind of agree with that. Don't get me wrong, after 3 years I still love my little 2.3 ZX3!

But if I were in your shoes, (hence coming into 7K), and wanting a little "FI", I would be saving every little penny up until August, add in the 7K, sell or trade the Focus, and get a MazdaSpeed 3. I find myself going to Mazda's website alot these days. There is a Mazda dealership about 12 miles down the road from me, & I have been very good about not going down there and taking one for a test drive. Because I know if I do, I just might have to hire an attorney, because my wife of 22 years, really, really wouldn't be happy with me......

you dont have to have a boost controller. you can simply use T-Conectors. Alot of people do that. I can get you a write up if you'd like its just putting a larger T-connector btw the wastegate vacuum line, and it lets more boost out, making you run a higher boost pressure. there are certain sizes and such. its not that difficult to do.

Yeah I was aware that you don't necessarily need them, but with a good controller can't you do things like set how much boost you want in each gear? I.E. low psi in first to keep traction and increase it in each gear etc. Or can you still do that with t-connectors?

On the other hand I agree more with DrkKnight614. There's some pretty sweet sport imports out on the market now.
