thinkin about tradin in the zx3 for an svt got a couple a ?'s

So I took an 02 svt out for a spin today, had aftermarket suspension, dual exhaust, an AEM intake, so i got some ?'s for ya. They want 9500 for it, clear title, 60,000 miles, 6-speed, beautiful shape, good deal? the dealer was tryin to tell me dual exhaust was stock..i didn't think they made that? they wanna give me 9000 for my '06 zx3, 10,000 miles, no options except A/C, which i think is standard anyway.....but anyways, what's you guys take on this? one more thing. how reliable is the svt? just as reliable as the regular focus? or not so much?

dual exhaust isnt stock. See if you can get an oasis report ran on the vin make sure the TSB for the clutch has been done, that can be very costly down the road. I think your car is worth more than 9k. What options did the svt have?

its a hard decision to make, the 06 has warranty, so your covered with B2B for anther 26k miles, svt well it isnt, also the new duratec engine is pretty good, a few mods and its close to what a svt is, im implying CAI echuast header and some cams, and a 2.0 is avoer 140whp

but on the other side you got svt, most powerful n.a focus you can get stock, awseome car, rare, 6 speed, awesome motor, and killer A/X car

its up to you really, do you want anewer more reliable car with no options and has warranty, or a 02 svt, 1st year, lots lil bugs, nice car, handles great, better resale and no warranty?

prolly not as reliable as an 06 since it is much newer but it is a totally different car. If you have extra money to fix things that go wrong which you always have to expect even with your 06 however you would have a warrenty. That seems like a good price for a dealer sale just be very careful make plenty of test drives and look over the paint and how the lines come together on the body panels to look for any accident damage from previous owners. What options does it have? heated seats,H.I.D.'s...ect

also is it modded the way you want it? stock cars are more popular when buying a used car and you can use that to help the dealer to lower the cost of this vehecial.

the price of 9500 is a good price from a dealer but if you buy from an individual you can get a much newer/less milege car. Just make sure you do as much research as possible before you make a decison. Cars.com.....

That car has been flogged, don't get it, even if everything turns up clean.

No matter what kind of deal you work out your still loosing money when you trade in for another car (depreciation and the dealer being in the business of making money). So you need to ask yourself is an older focus with a better tuned suspension and better transmission worth loosing the money your going to loose. I wouldnt worry about reliability. Mine has proved pretty rock solid, and ive absolutley flogged the snot out of it. People say the clutch is week, but i think that comes from them abusing it by riding it out in first gear. The car has fairly tall gears for the tiny little torqueless motor. Excercise your sprints from a roll and its quite an enjoyable automobile. keep up the maintenance and catch the little stuff before its a big issue and it should run another 60,000 miles no prob.
Again is that slight edge worth the money your going to loose though. You could put a suspension/lightwheel package on the 06 though. Couple bolt ons should get you roughfly the same porpulsion. Youve effectively voided your waranty but you have pretty much the same car. Probably a little stiffer too.
oh and the daul exhaust is not stock. As a matter of fact the bumper wont be either, unless they chopped into the stock one.

You won't have the SVT brakes.
