Classic love/hate relationship

the last few weeks started of with the my focus blowing a little oil so i took a good look under the hood and found the valve cover gasket and the oil pan gasket had failed. i figured i would use this oppurtunity to get it in tip top shape again. I ordered nice crossdrilled/slotted rotors and pads a UDP and an ORP. And thats when the saga began - went to seven different locations for the gasket (was given the wrong one twice) - delayed days cuz i was missing a few vital tools- pulled the motor mount out of the way to get the camgear cover out and still cracked it pulling it off - hours painting the rear calipers wasted because the to rear pistons got stuck and i had to redu them - sudden almost freezing tempatures ruin the painting process of the engine peices - when i finally get the plug wire cover looking decent a fricken gust of wind comes out of no where and covers it in leaves(couldnt really salvage this it looks horrible) - about this time i realize my ignition key isnt on my key ring - ive had to run to discount auto parts more than 7 times - i finally get to replacing the valve gasket and screwing the valve cover back on and finally a ray of sunshine because it looks pretty damn good and then CRACK...i overtorqued one of the bolts and it broke off in the threads. AAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!
anyway the key is gone, no idea how? Im gonna have it towed and be giving ford 230.00 dollars so i can be able to start my car and im having them fix the broken valve cover screw and bleed the brakes. they are gonna rape me i know it.
SIGH! pray for me guys.
sorry for the rant.

Try Bill Currie Ford in Tampa (on Dale Mabry) - they're pretty reasonable and I've had good dealings with them in the past. I lived in Tampa until fall of 04, so I've been there.

As for the love/hate relationship with the car, I've been there. When things are going good, they're going great. When they aren't, well, it isn't pretty. On the upside, you have rear disc brakes - you really have no idea how much I envy you for that alone (dealing with replacing the shoes in my rear drum brakes).

I'm going to do the classic Johnny Carson routine now. (holds envelope to forhead) Your repair bill will likely be between $450 and $600 from the dealer for everything including tax.
