i know i have a focus, and i love it. but it's not a racer and really, never will be. nor is it an atv. so does anyone here enjoy other sports... like wheeling. i built a bronco. i love getting it muddy. and my kids love it also. up where i live there are tons of trails to take. a couple years ago we got a major spell of rain it was almost like monsoon season. i went to the mountains and gathered some major carnage. i've been wheeling ever since. anyone else been in the back country?? my bronco goes anywhere!!

My wife has a 96 5.0L Bronco. It's mostly stock, with some good bolt-ons (headers, electric fans, K&N FPIK, performance ingnition, dual-roller timing chain, dual cat-back exhaust). It has 31x10.5's BFG All Terrains T/A's and Rancho RSX shocks. It's not a beast, but it's suprising what it will do. She like to turn wrenches, and has done most of the work herself. She's a fantastic driver. We've got a beater Bronco II that we're going to build into an off-road toy.

I like dirt bikes myself, but I'm currently without a ride. We have a couple of 4 wheelers for the kids. I'm hoping to pick up a good used dual-purpose bike this summer to ride between autocross weekends.

There are a lot of trails up here to run, and we get off-road every summer. Good times! The pictures are from a place called Jim Creek. Beautiful 90 degree day. I was on a 4x 4 wheeler all day taking pictures.

Here is my off-road toy. Its a yellow 2003 Suzuki Ozark Quadrunner 250. I bought it brand new in 02 before I could even drive a car. I live on a 500 acre farm, so I have tons of places to ride it. We have trails through the woods, and also a mile long dirt course from the front of the farm to the back. I've had so much fun with this 4 wheeler. Lightweight 4 wheeler + 5 speed manual tranny + Rear wheel drive = tons of fun, and great drifting action...especially in the snow. For being a 2wd it does great in muddy conditions. I drove it through our pond before. At its prime it's top speed was about 65 mph. It has really good torque, and easily pulls wheelies. Enjoy the pics

Cool Jeeps. It looks like a beautiful place you live. I just google mapped Twain Harte, CA....I'm suprised at how rural it is. Nice.

haha, I have never jumped by focus, but I have rallied it on gravel. And boy is that fun.

FocusInAlaska: Yeah this is a very small town, 2800 people. Currently underneath a blanket of snow. Most people think California is a giant beach and such. But we also have some of the highest and steepest mountains on the continent. I live just north of Yosemite National Park, really beautiful country.

Stuka, you bring a tear to my eye.

Right now my other vehicle is a '89 Isuzu Trooper that I used to off-road in, but recently the only open off-road places near by have been bought and are starting to be developed into suburbs. So we're pretty much SOL. So I'm thinking about selling it and buying a project car.

But before my trooper I had this...

She was by far the best vehicle I've ever had and the one I loved the most. But unfortunately I only had her for a year before she spun a rod bearing and as a result it clogged the oil pump and seized the motor before I could limp home. She had been rebuild 4K miles before I bought her and other than that one incident, she ran absolutely beautifully. I also put a set of 31" BFG all terrain T/As and a flowmaster 40 series on her.

I love old Jeeps. I had a 1990 Bronco all stock ,but still fun. I also had a 1983 S-10 blazer with a full Ranchero suspension ,lockers front and rear and a 350 swap. The body was ugly ,but it was a beast.
