SVT's 2.0 and my 2.0 why is it so much more powerful?

What are the main differences between these two engines? I know they are both 2.0L ZETEC engines, I just want to know where my extra 35hp is hiding lol. I figure is probably bolt ons, but is there any difference in port or major head designs? Im not looking to go FI with this car, seeing how its automatic, but the power setup sounds like something im Interested in. I just want a cheap easy way to gain some power

As far as I know, the only real parts an SVT 2.0 and a Zetec shares are the iron block and crankshaft. They have higher compression, free'er flowing head, cosworth designed exhaust, dual stage runner intake manifold, larger intake and exhaust ports, different tuning, forged internals. I'm sure if I missed something or put something wrong someone will chime in.

Okay, Well I was thinking about doing a 4 to 1 header, cams, and pulleys, not too sure about the pulleys at this point though seeing how everywhere I read you have to shave something to prevent rubbing... not exactly Ideal, and of course tranny program. Oh thanks for letting me know my internals arnt forged, i was thinking about remote turbo... lol

you can run a turbo or sc fine on a stock engine, but the engine won't handle to much over like 8-10psi even with good tuning.

I agree, but I want this engine to last, maybe build a junkyard engine so i dont care if it blows, but im going N/A unless they bring the RS to the place it belongs. Anyway, do you know of any pulley upgrades for auto's that need no fabrication to covers or that dont rub?

He sorta said that with free'er flowing head but stating why (mostly why anyway) as you did is probably more helpful......

Cams are a mod I plan on doing... i have money now but i could also buy a G60 V dub for 2 grand... or stick my my hot rod with 40k miles... such a hard decision. I think Cams and maybe head work with a 4-1 header and exhaust not to mention programming and injectors as well as plugs and methanol injection will cost the same as the v dub and make more power... what to do lol. should have gotten the SVT :(

Not even the block. Remember the SVT block has built in oil squirters. The SVT engine is designed of of the Zetec and some parts are interchangeable ,but they are not the same motor.
