Nice...what's that sitting on top of the engine, a TMIC?

Hmm...I guess that means there's more possibility to increase power through mods that I thought. The engine is pretty much maxed out due to the direct-inject fuel system, but if you were to switch to a FMIC you'd probably be able to squeeze some more power out of it. TMICs aren't the most efficent way to cool the charge...I recall reading that a STi sees something like a 15 HP boost if you switch it over to a FMIC without doing anything else.

i believe it, tho i don't think there's a whole lot of room between the bumper and the radiator, i haven't had much time to look at mine recently since it's so frickin cold out.

Have fun making traction! That car really needs AWD plus that Mazda 3 look is dated now.

Meh...no worse than any other boosted FWD car.

I'll admit that I'm not that big of a fan of the Mazda 3's appearance, but this is definitely up towards the top of my list for my next car. What's turning me away from it is the extremely limited production numbers (I think they said that they only plan on selling 5,000 units total in the US) which will result in high insurance costs. And the problems they've been having with the factory tune making inconsistent power, and Mazda not giving the tuning community any information on the base map tune.
