forget europeans, what about the mexicans?!

so im bored and had nothing better to do than check out the ford mexico web page. everyone complains about the cars that ford europe builds, but what about MEXICO? i mean, after all, they are just south of us, as opposed to across an ocean, and they've got the best of both north america AND europe. so they've got the new focus that everyone here wants...they've got the susion and the mondeo...the escape and the ecosport...plus the fiesta...not to mention the mustang and all of our gass sucking SUVs and trucks.

so why do we complain about europe when mexico has got the good stuff from us and the europeans?

S-Max and Mondeo may be coming to the US after all. Although I'm really not that excited about it, since they fall within the price range of a Fusion (if not a little more). It's cool news, but as a poor bastard it doesn't really interest me much.

To my knowlege, the EuroST in Mexico IS made in Europe. It was the North American Focus 3-door (previously known as ZX3) that was made in Mexico--check the VIN label in your door. Supposedly only the North American Fusion is now made in Mexico?

But the Mexican appearance of the EuroST contradicts Ford's excuse that it's too risky or expensive to bring the EuroST to the US!

YES, thank you very much. someone sees my point here. after all, i mean what is it about mexico that makes the mkII better down there? instead we get a satur-ocus (yeah...that's no good is it? lol, i tried) in 2008. i can understand some of the cars being different down south, like the ka and fiesta i suppose, but are they saying for some reason that the mkII can sell in mexico but not here?! heck, even the sedan version is better looking than the 2008 sedan, so i dont see how the elimination of the hatch could be the main reason either.

I want Fiesta.

Don't you see what Ford is doing? They're putting the cars we say we want in Mexico, to see the extremes of which we would obtain them. If enough folks buy them in the US... I bet they would bring them over here. Yep... that's my super cool theory!

Wouldn't that eliminate Fords surveys among American consumers age 18-24?

Well, if they euro st that mexico has is built and then imported from germany or wherever else in europe, surely the price of it reflects that? They'll ship em as they're bought I would assume.
