!^#* I got locked out

I don't want to go into how I got locked out for fear of sleeping alone but my keys are sitting on my seat and I have tried fiddling down inside the door with a coat hanger and trying to feed it past the window to unlock from inside and it wont go through the weather striping. I got the weather striping off where you would slim Jim it from. I see a plastic white plastic square and a bar attached to it from below. I have pushed and pulled on this with the wire and nothing. next to it when you pull the handle a metal bar pops out. I can see where the handle is on the inside as well. anyone know how to pop this lock?

Call a tow truck. Most of them carry lockout kits. It will cost like 25 - 50 buck. The cash is worth not damaging your car and frustrating yourself.

Well it's good to know the Focus isn't an easy car to break into. I know that doesn't really help you, sorry. I'd highly recommend getting a chipless key from Mike (PM user "b16sir1991"), and carrying it with you at all times. They're very cheap, and he can have it shipped to you really quickly. Just a suggestion that might save you from future headaches like this.

PS: I also wouldn't recommend the coathanger technique. You'll only end up damaging your window, which may end up costing you $300 or more for a new regulator with labor expenses.

You should go by a compustar system. They have a knocking system you can install on your window. If you ever lock your keys in the car you can knock on the windshield (that is password set by you, by knocking). If you knock the correct code your doors will unlock. No need for locksmiths or breaking in anymore. It's pretty cool
